Before the Sunshine

tree 1

Here is another one of my recent drawings. Unfortunately, my sketch book is a wee bit taller than the scanner, so a little bit of the top was cut off in the process. I'm sorry for the lack of outfit posts lately, I've been really tired and now that spring has arrived, my allergies are also kicking in. After working all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I just didn't have it in me to post anything. This week should be better though.

I've actually been thinking about putting up some of my old poems, but I'm not sure yet. I haven't written anything in a few years and need to dig the old ones out of our files in the attic first and then see if they're anything I'd want to make public. Thanks to everyone who left encouraging words after my last two posts. You're all so wonderful. I can't thank you enough.

  1. You have a definite style. I love it. I love the lines, her limbs and the flowiness? flowyness? (made up word) of everything.

  2. My allergies have been oddly acting up, too -- and I don't even have allergies! I love this sketch you've shared, though! The lines in your work are so compelling and organic!

  3. Is there a story behind this piece? The girl standing back-facing with the rain on her, it's saying so much, I love this.

  10. Drawings like this and poems would be a lovely addition to regular outfit posts. If i had even an ounce of artistic talent, I would definitely include it in my blog. Good luck with this week.

  20. If you have that printed like on fabric for making dresses, I'd buy at least 5 meters!

PS - My website was busted for a while. It's back up but I lost some content and your comments (that I really treasure). BIG SAD but life goes on, yeah? Adding you to my blogroll again. :)

  21. Beautiful colours! I love how you've drawn the contours on the tree. I'd love to read some of your poetry. I think a person who is creative in one medium (let's say fashion, or sketching) can so easily transfer that love of creating to any other medium.
