Her Roses Were Red, Her Violets Were Blue and Her Hair Was a Crown of Braids

I spent the weekend working and then coming home to clean out my closet and chest of drawers (now begins the task of going through all of the items intended for donation:). Whilst doing so, I realized how many dresses I really do own...yet this morning when it came to deciding what to wear, I didn't have a clue or much time. Isn't it funny how that can happen sometimes?

I've really been dying to wear this recently-thrifted angora-blend sweater since I found it last week and ultimately decided to pair it with the most vibrant blue dress I own. I love the shoulder pads and the detailing around the bust (which you can't see under the sweater) and the pattern is so bright and cheerful. Despite my affection for the dress, I realized after looking at the pictures from tonight that its just too long for me now and raised the hem three or four inches. Unfortunately, I was way too lazy to re-take the pics, so here it is pre-hemming.

  2. Oh what a cheery sweater, super color. I love how you did your hair.

I was looking at the bracelet, thinking that was a spoon as I'd profiled an etsy store that did them a while back...the pin is gorgeous.

  8. Lol, I can totally relate. I own an impressive number of dresses that just hang there waiting for warm enough weather/the right occasion. I love your hair like that, it's chic but in an understated natural way. :)
And I love the colors you wear as always.

  15. For a second there I thought you had given yourself a pixie cut - just so you know, you could definitely pull it off, haha. I love the braid though! Very jealous, my hair is barely long enough to put in a pony tail. Great sweater, it looks super soft!

  17. I love, love, love spoon jewelry! My best friend and I bought spoon rings from a flea market the Christmas before last, and I bought one for my little sister, too! I am definitely going to be on the look out for a spoon bracelet!
