Today we decided to bathe our dog. Our stinky little bear (as we like to refer to her:). And man, oh man, does she hate baths. Its always quite the endeavor...she seems like she's going to just stand there and be patient, and then off she goes, slipping right out of our fingers. Its most definitely a two person job. So off we went to the back yard, me in my rain boots, Dan armed with a towel and soap, Sophie unaware of what was to come.
(Please click on any of the photos if you wish to enlarge them:)
Yet while she hates the process, she loves the result (I think being wet?) and runs around like a whirling dervish afterwards. Here are some pics that I snapped before we got the chance to towel her off.
After we finished with Sophie's bath, I decided to snap some outfit photos. This dress was a favorite of many people who commented on the last finds post I wrote. I really wish that I'd taken a picture of myself in it before I altered the sleeves and took up the hem. Its a Laura Ashley from the 80's and was initially about four inches longer with wrist-length tapered sleeves. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. It really feels like a fancy party dress to me...although that didn't stop me from wearing it on bath day:)
I was gonna say that that's the most stylish dog-washin' ensemble EVER! Love those wellies. REALLY love your hair like that!
ReplyDeleteYour dog Sophie is incredibly cute! :)
ReplyDeleteMy dogs seem to dislike bath day as well. Whenever me and my parents are trying to bathe our dogs they hide and then after, they go running around the house! Its very funny to watch!
Your dress is beautiful! The colour is stunning and really suits you! :)
Love Kirsty .x.
what a sweet doggie! you look very cute!
ReplyDeleteYou are too gorgeous in that dress, love it.
ReplyDeleteI adore the first pic, you all look so cute and Sophie has the funniest expression on her face.(I clicked for better look).

Ur doggie is the cutest, she reminds of my doggie Maya ;-) I love what u did to the dress, U gave it a 4o's flare!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress! It's a gorgeous colour on you, and I must say I am rather impressed at how well dressed you were to wash your dog, and how you managed to stay that way! I guess washing dogs is a little less violent than giving a kitty a bath - I always wear the most disposable thing I can find when I bathe my kittens, because I know I will end up drenched and my clothes shredded!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous dress!! Love the wellies. : )
ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous! I love the color and the bow. I'm glad you could alter it to make it work.
ReplyDeleteDogggyyyyy! So adorable.
ReplyDeleteThat dress looks gorgeous on you!
cute dog! and cuter dress!
ReplyDeleteGreat new dress♥ and little Sophie is adorable... I love the name 'Sofia' and recently told my sis that if I ever have a daughter I'm naming her that and then she told me 'Ok, but if I get a dog before that can I name her that?' :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, your dog is great!! Love the dress, its darling!
ReplyDeletelove the dress!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for liking mine and Tom's blog, we almost gave up for lack of readers! I love this post, me and Tom were in stitches looking at your dog running around and I am also a fan of vintage Laura Ashley; yours is a particularly nice example.

Haha. Cute dog, I hope your very pretty dress didn't get dirty when you bathed your dog.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is an absolute stunner - I love it! It doesn't scream 'Dog washing' to me, but hey, a girl has to always be stylish, no matter what she does, right?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dress! And your stinky little bear is SO adorable, I love the action shots, haha! My dog launches himself round in circles when he's wet too, I've actually cried real tears laughing at him, the little psychopath!
