Green, Blue or Both?

Recently I noticed that I've been really drawn to the colors green and blue. Aqua is a combination of both, right? So I had my cake and ate it too today, in a color sense, and went with this pretty handmade vintage dress that I thrifted last year. The color is great, but what really sold me on it are the little flowers. You can't really tell from the photos, but they sparkle in the light. It was quite the pick-me-up on a dreary day.

The jean jacket is another favorite that I found in a branch of a very popular local consignment store chain. I usually don't frequent consignment stores. The prices are higher than my usual thrifty haunts and they don't have that much vintage (in my experience). I'm glad I wandered into the one where I found the little jacket though. I love how it creates a very specific silhouette. In one of my history classes in college we discussed how clothing changed over time and molded people's bodies into various shapes deemed fashionable and attractive in different eras. I feel like this jacket does just that, emphasizing the bust and waist and making the arms look slim. Thank goodness its made out of stretchy denim though, otherwise I might not be able to wear it for too long:)

  1. The aqua dress with the denim jacket is such a fabulous combination. That two alone created a very nice ensemble then when you added the coat plus the scarf, the result is equally fabulous. xoxo

  7. WOW I love your dress! The color is stunning, as are the colors of your scarf! I love the shape of your jean jacket as well, it's definitely different, unique, and quite feminine compared to regular jean jackets. I agree, blue and green look great together! They make tons of fun colors, like aqua, teal, turquoise, and more I can't think of right now :)

  10. The color of your dress is so lovely! And the jean jacket is perfect - it almost makes me think of those little shrugs worn in the Jane Austen movies - so romantic and flattering! An unusual silhouette for denim!

  14. Re: your comment. I agree - it's amazing how he's fitted in so much into a small space, but it does work well. I love the old sink in the kitchen and the shiny green wall! The bathroom looks so serene and calm which is a total contrast to the rest of the apartment!

  16. Wow!This dress has an unbelievable colour! And what a luck to have a colour matching scarf! I always find you are particularly good in finding matching items. I'm not! When I buy a dress of a peculiar colour, I will most likely find an almost-but-not-exactely-matching scarf!
