Race Day

Today Dan ran his marathon. He's been training for six months and made it through to the end in pretty good time. It was his first marathon and probably his last full one...at least for a while. I'm so proud of him and was excited to spend the day with his mom and auntie traveling around to various places along the course to cheer him and his fellow runners on. It was a good day, but we were both pretty exhausted by the end. I didn't get any pics of my outfit while we were out, but here are some that I took this evening back home.

(Oh and by the way, I was pretty stoked to carry this straw bag for the first time today. I've been looking for the perfect little woven purse for summer and was lucky enough to find this one when thrifting on Saturday. I love the wooden handles and it actually zips closed, is fully lined and even has a little pocket on the inside. It reminded me a bit of the one that Summer carries in Ikea in (500) Days of Summer.)

  11. So fun! He's very dashing, even whilst running his marathon. Or should I say he's dashing because he's running it? I think it's both! I love you in shortsl it's unexpected and classy and also a bit whimsical. Such a great outfit today. And you know, I never noticed your cat in your header photo until just now!

  13. Great accomplishment, very admirable!! I know a lot of runners and know how difficult it can be, way to go Dan!!

The black blouse with the print is amazing, I've been looking for one like that. I'm always hesitant to wear black in the spring & summer, but I love it with shorts and the straw accessories make the whole outfit very versatile.
