Okay, so I couldn't resist posting one more outfit before we leave! Its getting cooler here and really starting to feel more like fall. Today while I was running some last minute errands, I decided to wear this silk jacket that my mother's best friend gave to me. Her mother was a wealthy socialite who traveled to Hong Kong in the 60's and had several garments made there. This jacket was one of them and Barbara was nice enough to entrust it to me along with a teal silk dress and a blue cocktail dress. Its the first time I've worn the jacket and also the first time I've worn this J-Crew wool skirt that a friend gave me the other night. I have a feeling they're both going to be autumnal staples now:)
I'm sorry about the quality of the photos. These aren't the best ones I've ever taken by a long shot, but I didn't have much time. If you wish to enlarge them, please click on the photos.
Silk Jacket: Handmade Vintage
Wool Skirt: J-Crew (Hand-Me-Down)

Oh, and on a different note altogether, today Blogger said that I wasn't following any blogs when I logged in. Then I logged out and back in a few minutes later and my list had reappeared somehow. Has this happened to anyone else?
I'll write more when we return and hope the next two weeks are great for everyone!

The exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, and I heard a couple of other bloggers say the same thing. Kind of spooky isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI posted the measurment on my blog. Too bad your on vacation though, but it might still be there when you return.
I love your outfit, different, but very nice! And I still love your hair. Have a good time in Italy!
Wow, that jacket is amazing, what a lucky gal!!
ReplyDeleteYour jacket and the skirt complement one another very well!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for your comments and the link! :)
If you want (and react before you're on your way)I can hold it for you. I can send it to you when you get back from Italy. But that's only if you're sure you want to buy it, the shipping costs might be a bit high as well because it is a heavy coat. I'm not saying this because I have dollarsigns in my eyes but I really think it will look very good on you. I would love to give it a good home. So, give it some thought, I'd be happy to hold it for you.
ReplyDeleteoooh! what a pretty jacket!
ReplyDeletei love pieces with a story! what story will you write while wearing that piece?

So awesome to see you wearing something asian! It's prolly called a Cheongsam top. A Cheongsam is a dress but it'd look similar to what you're wearing, only that it's a dress with high slits ;]
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome!!
That happens now and then with blogger- I panicked the first time, now I roll my eyes and check back later. Love this top, it looks great with your coloring and is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love your jacket Kelley, but even more I love the story behind it. Obviously a small treasure. Have a wonderful trip! Looking forward to seeing and reading all about. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous jacket...it has such mysterious allure, as though it holds ageless secrets of the orient in its inky black threads.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a splendid weekend, honey!

ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Kelley Anne! How was your trip? Regarding my blog, I think I'm using stretch minima or something. Is it too wide? I use a Mac, so I hadn't thought about whether PC users might have found it annoying! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh welcome back Kelley Anne, I've missed you. Hope everything went really well for you both.

Pssst...re: bigger images.....to go for bigger photos, you have to first open a flickr account and then upload there. Then, you have to go to "all sizes" and then copy the code for whichever size you want. Then go back to blogger and paste into the post. Oh, you may find the size of the images uploaded are too big for blogger's regular template you are working with, so you would have to go in and modify the code slightly....
