I don't know if I've mentioned it, but over the past few weeks I've come to the decision that I'm going to make a conscientious effort to incorporate more of my accessories into my daily wardrobe. I guess this is one of my less weighty resolutions for the new year. I'm such a sucker for colorful brooches, hats, belts, scarves and purses and regularly pick them up in vintage and thrift stores. After reading a post on wearing color in a winter wardrobe over at Mamushka Marie, I decided to really go for it today and use some pieces that I haven't worn much recently. I played with the scarf throughout the day and moved it around quite a bit, but here's what I came up with...
Purse: Thrifted, Urban Renewals
Dress: Vintage, Buffalo Exchange
Scarf: Vintage, Church Thrift Store
Belt: Vintage, Church Thrift Sale
Earrings: Thrifted, Savers
Brooch: Thrifted, Savers
Shoes: Blowfish
Tights: Target
Shirt: Target
Oh and although I still haven't gotten to West Side Story, I did go to a matinee of La Dolce Vita with a friend today. We both found it visually and intellectually interesting and I'm glad to have finally seen it, but we also thought that it was draining. I'm not sure what we expected:) Has anyone else seen it? If so, I'd like to hear what you thought.
I love the pop of green! I've been making an effort to incorporate ANY color in my wardrobe these days as well!
ReplyDeleteHmm, haven't seen those movies, maybe i'll check out la dolce vita.
I'll definitely add you to my blogroll.

lovely! the scarf, broach and purse are such great colorful additions to the outfit!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear many accesories myself too. It's a pity because I have a lot of them and I think they give a spicy taste to the outfits.
ReplyDeleteI've seen both La Dolce Vita and West Side Story. They are both cult movies, but quite different from one another. La Dolce Vita is really a symbol of Italian movies of the Fifties. There were so many great Italian directors in those times, it's such a pity nowadays there aren't. If you haven't seen it yet, I strongly advise you to watch Ladri di biciclette.
Stunning photos you look like a doll and the outfit is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI love you new resolution, I'll get to see more of your cute accessories! You look very nice in these pics. I love the red belt and green scarf. The contrasting colors are great.
