I admittedly have a thing for floral dresses, especially short floral dresses with pockets and nipped waists. I've been seeing so many beautiful little numbers in fashion magazines over the past year...and being the magazine junkie that I am, the style has rubbed off on me and effected my eye when I'm going through racks and racks of dresses at thrift stores. In its original form, this dress didn't necessarily fit the bill; there were originally about six extra inches to the hem, a set of linebacker shoulder pads, and the sleeves were a few inches longer. Yet there were enough wonderful details (the pleated front, pockets, the fact that it fastens with a row of purple buttons up the back, and the color of the fabric) and the fit was just right. After a little reshaping and paired with my favorite belt it felt perfect today and gave me the opportunity to wear my new felt cloche hat.
